This toy was a hit with my 3 year ancient son. He watches performances on TV and wanted a microphone like on TV. He likes the way it looks, it projects his voice well and so far seems pretty sturdy. Like other reviews mention, it “stops working” by which I mean it shuts off some features to save batteries but it’s simple to reset–my 3 year ancient has already figured it out. I also noticed that the stand doesn’t tighten and hold at the higher heights, which is not a problem for now because it fits my son perfectly at the smallest height. I read other reviews before purchasing and it was just what I expected based on the description and other reviewers.

Bought this mic stand for Christmas, for my daughter who had just turned 6. She likes playing with this toy, and putting on shows for us. But the quality is only so-so. After only a small while, the upright part of the mic stand quickly became “stripped” and unable to tighten to keep it up, so it slides to the lowest height. Also, it became a bit glitchy where sometimes no sound came from it at all. After checking connections and battery life I could find no explanation, but then it would work perfectly the next day. These aren’t huge issues, but could easily upset a young child. Other than those 2 quality issues, it is a fantastic toy for your small performer.

I tried to post this review before, and it was not posted. Im going to tone it down a bit. This microphone is not excellent at all. I should have listened to the others who did not like it. The only nice thing about it is the look. the functionality is poor. You may as well whisper

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my five-year ancient granddaughter who thinks she is a star (and she is). She has painstakingly loved it and can take it from room to room with ease. A wonderful toy.
